Overview
DatabaseBuilder (“we”, “us”) helps you turn business cards and email signatures into a structured contact database. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information. The email address you sign in with and the name of the workspace (organization) you create or join.
Content you provide. Images of business cards and email-signature screenshots you upload, any signature text you paste, and the contact details extracted from them (names, job titles, companies, emails, phone numbers, addresses, social profiles, and your notes).
Usage and logs. Records of actions taken in your workspace (audit log), extraction-job metadata (timestamps, the model used, token counts, and estimated cost), and standard technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
To provide the service (extract, store, search, deduplicate, and export your contacts), to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app, to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
AI processing
To extract contact fields, the images and text you submit are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API. This content is processed solely to return structured data for you. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. We do not use your content to train any models.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase (managed PostgreSQL and object storage) in the Tokyo, Japan region (ap-northeast-1). Connections to the app are encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and tenant data is isolated per workspace using database row-level security.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We share data only with the providers that help us run the service:
- Supabase — database, file storage, and authentication.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Anthropic — AI-based extraction of contact details.
- Resend — delivery of sign-in and transactional emails.
We do not sell your personal data. We disclose it only to the providers above, to comply with the law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
Retention
We keep your content for as long as your workspace exists or until you delete it. Deleting a contact or your account removes the associated records; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis.
Your choices and rights
You can access and edit your contacts in the app, export them to CSV at any time, and delete individual contacts or your entire account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or erase your personal data — contact us to exercise them.
Contact data about other people
The contacts you scan are personal data about third parties. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and store that information and for handling it in line with applicable data-protection laws. See our Terms of Service for details.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified in the app.
